MONO NO AWARE: CINEMA ARTS FESTIVAL

In the spring of 2007, the first Mono No Aware call for entries was announced. The event was held in November that year in the historic Galapagos Art Space at its original location on North 6th Street Brooklyn, New York. On that cold Sunday evening, with an audience that was past capacity, it was decided that there was interest large enough to continue Mono No Aware as an annual event. Since then, entries have come in from all over the world and the event has moved to larger spaces to accommodate its growing audience. Our tenth anniversary year, was our largest ever with 4000+ in attendance and 150 works by 150 international artists over 22 nights.

Mono No Aware was intended to be and will remain a not-for-profit event. The festival is free to attend and free to submit. You can see the full program from each year with images below:
